Eric confirmed via email that he was able to get WOL working after all. The MAC format must have no spaces, dashes, or special characters. The format in Remote Reboot X needs to be 0016E6DBBC83 instead of 00-16-E6-DB-BC-83.

Eric - Wake On LAN, in general, tends to be very flaky. At this point I have no reason to believe that there's a problem with the WOL functionality in Remote Reboot X. Unless you tell me that you can consistently wake up machines with a different tool but just not my tool, I don't plan on looking into it. I have found WOL a pain in the butt to get working, and sometimes it works with some machines while other times it won't work with those same machines. Of course you have to have WOL enabled in your BIOS and on your network adapter, and even in those cases it often times doesn't work.

I'm strongly considering removing WOL altogether in the next release. I added it on the request of some users of the tool, but frankly I don't care for it because of its general unreliability. I'll tell you what... if I choose to NOT remove it from RRx, then I'll add an additional column for the MAC.

I will be making a big update within the next handful of weeks. I've been working on a number of functionality/feature updates over the past couple months, but I only have a limited amount of free time, so it's been taking a bit longer than I had hoped. Soon, however, there will be a new release.

Thanks,
Doug

Can't get the Wake on Lan to work. When I select the menu option, nothing seems to happen.
Would it be possible to add another column that contains the MAC address for the WOL functionality?

Thanks,
Eric
